Audio clips and photographs taken by police officers at the scene of a brawl. This traumatic history serves as the basis for New Orleans-based artist Skylar Fein’s immersive installation Remember the Upstairs Lounge. Six people, including a gunman, died in a shooting at a manufacturing. Until the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting in which 49 people were murdered, the UpStairs Lounge arson attack was the deadliest known attack on a gay club in U.S. A few anonymous individuals stepped forward and paid for three unknown victim's burials, and they were buried with another victim identified as Ferris LeBlanc in a mass grave at Holt Cemetery. Several families did not step forward to claim the bodies of the deceased. All but one church refused to hold funerals for the dead. Thirty-two people were killed in the fire.
